Chapter 665
Chapter 665:
There, on the edge of the collapsed road, stood a figure calmly flipping a card in one hand, a serene smile playing on their face.
Ashton’s expression turned steely the moment he recognized who it was.
Who else could it be but Red Jack?
Justin Bolton, the leader of the special forces team, was at the wheel of the lead vehicle when a powerful explosion nearly obliterated it. Had it gone off a second later, the blast would have turned the entire vehicle into a mangled wreck, killing everyone inside.
Despite the close call, Justin’s unshakeable nerves held steady, a testament to his resilience as a seasoned operative.
But at that exact moment, he noticed a figure suddenly stepping into the road ahead, blocking their path.
Instincts kicked in, and Justin immediately assessed the situation. Given the circumstances, this person was likely trying to intercept the suspect being transported in the car behind them.
Gripping his gun, Justin prepared to jump out and confront the intruder. However, as soon as he cracked the door open, it was abruptly shoved shut from the outside.
“Mr. Baldwin, what are you…?”
Confusion etched across Justin’s face, but Ashton’s grim expression silenced any further questions.
“Don’t get out of the car. If anyone makes a move, he’ll retaliate instantly. This isn’t someone we can afford to underestimate. It’s better if I handle this myself.”
Reluctantly, Justin stayed put, watching as Ashton strode forward to confront the mysterious man alone.
As Ashton approached, Red Jack broke into a wide grin. “Typical of you, Ashton, you’ve got a sharp sense of danger. I was ready to kill the first one who dared step out of the car, but since it’s you, I’ll hold back… for now.”

Ashton’s eyes narrowed, his tone icy. “What’s your game, Red Jack? What are you doing here?”
Red Jack, still grinning, slipped the card back into his pocket and straightened up. “I’m here to make a proposition. I’ve rigged this entire road with over 400 pounds of TNT, enough to level everything in a mile radius. My demand is simple: hand over Fraser. You can do whatever you want with the others. Of course, you’re free to refuse. But if you do, everyone here dies—civilians, cars, your team. All gone in an instant.”
Ashton clenched his fists and gritted his teeth, angry. “You came to me, asking me to eliminate Fraser for you. I did my part, and now you show up to threaten me? What kind of game are you playing, Red Jack?”
Red Jack merely shrugged, an amused grin spreading across his face. “Initially, it was a simple plan. But then I had a change of heart, a little inspiration, you might say. I thought it’d be more entertaining this way.”
His eyes gleamed with mischief. “You’ve cornered Fraser, driven him to desperation. Aren’t you curious what he’d do if he had another shot at you? Frankly, I’m dying to find out, so I’m here to save him and give him another chance.”
