Chapter 801
Chapter 801:
As she spoke, Ashton couldn’t help but notice the faint blush on her cheeks and the look of anticipation in her eyes.
It dawned on him that after their recent intimacy, Abrial wanted to spend some undistracted time together.
Resignedly, Ashton swallowed the words he’d been about to say. Instead, he gave her a soft smile and nodded. “Alright, I’m free now. Let’s go out and enjoy ourselves for a bit.”
Ashton was well aware that Abrial was seeking more than just a meal; she desired a full-blown date.
As darkness settled over Staville, Ashton led Abrial down the commercial street, bustling with activity. The handsome man and the beautiful woman made an amazing pair, catching the eyes of many passersby on the street.
Previously, Abrial didn’t like being the focus of attention, but now she openly gripped Ashton’s arm, savoring the envious glances from those around her. This new feeling brought her great satisfaction.
Originally, Abrial had only planned to grab a casual bite, but her excitement now had her eager to explore the commercial street with Ashton, even if they didn’t make any purchases.
However, her excitement faded quickly. Having just experienced intimacy for the first time, Abrial soon slowed down, a faint expression of discomfort appearing on her face.
Perceptive as ever, Ashton asked softly, “Are you feeling okay?”
Abrial scanned their surroundings before leaning closer to whisper bashfully, “I’m a bit sore down there.”
Understanding, Ashton guided her to a nearby café where they could take a break.

As they settled in and talked, Abrial noticed Ashton’s unease and distraction.
With a playful pout, she asked sweetly, “Hey, is walking with me boring you?”
Ashton shook his head gently and said, “I feel torn between guilt toward you and Rosalie. I’m her boyfriend, yet here we are. She’s innocent, as are you. I want to honor your feelings, but betraying Rosalie isn’t an option for me, leaving me conflicted about our situation.”
Abrial had anticipated his thoughts from his demeanor but was taken aback by his blunt honesty.
With a bitter smile, she responded, “You shouldn’t worry about this. What happened was my choice. I was just trying to save you, without thinking further. Don’t dwell on it.”
Ashton firmly disagreed and said, “No, I bear the primary responsibility. You became involved because of me, and it wouldn’t be right to dismiss my role just because you consented.”
Abrial was quiet for a moment before gently saying, “Then I can make a compromise. I don’t need you to marry me; just keep a place for me in your heart.”
Without hesitation, Ashton shook his head once more, rejecting the idea. “In the end, this is my fault, and you shouldn’t have to bear the consequences.”
Abrial understood that Ashton’s internal struggle was partly due to her presence.
