Chapter 583

Miss Josefina: Nobody's Princess · Dana E.

Josie was behind the wheel, her mind racing as she tried to track down Grant. The hotel had just informed her that he'd already checked out.

Reaching into her pocket, she pulled out her phone, ready to call him. But before she could dial, a message from Grant popped up on her screen.

Grant: Rosa, knowing you're living your best life makes me happy. I've returned the car to Oliver and headed back to Rose Bay Island. Don't bother seeing me off. All I want is for you to be happy, forever and always.

Her fingers flew over the screen as she typed back: Hey Clear Sky, I'll bring the family to Rose Bay Island when we get the chance. Drive safe, and say hi to the old man for me.

Grant didn't reply.

Josie slung her purse over her shoulder and walked toward the parking lot. That's when she spotted a familiar figure.

Oliver was here.

Tilting her head, Josie eyed him curiously as she approached. "How'd you know I'd be here?"

It was almost as though Oliver had a sixth sense about her. Did he have some kind of radar?

"Caught wind of Grant leaving and you not mentioning it. Got me thinking he

might've ghosted you. So I figured I'd swing by and see if I'd run into you. Looks like fate's on my side," Oliver said, taking Josie's hand and speaking softly. "Josie, it's time to chauffeur me to the office."

"How'd you get here, anyway?" she asked.

"Driver dropped me off, but then something came up and he had to leave," he replied.

Josie raised an eyebrow, skeptical.

"Josie, I really did get a ride," he insisted.

She pointed to her car. "Get in then."

Oliver slid into the driver's seat, motioning for Josie to take the passenger side.

"I'll drive."

She handed him the keys.

They set off, Oliver at the wheel and Josie riding shotgun.

He was in high spirits, occasionally whistling a tune.

Josie leaned over with a playful smirk. "You seem pretty happy. Win the lottery or something?"

Oliver arched an eyebrow, his grin widening: "Rival's out of the picture, gave chasing you mon

nine, better than hitting the jackpot.

Josie laughed. "How do you know Clear Sky's given up?"

"He left so fast, must've seen the writing on the wall - that I'm the real deal. He knew when to fold 'em,"

Oliver declared, stopping at a red ght.

He turned to her, his smile unwavering, and said firmly, "Josie, you're meant to be with me."

His deep eyes were sincere, making Josie look away, a bit flustered.

"Oliver, just drive."

He resumed driving, a visibly joyful expression on his face.

Once they reached the company's front door, he said, "Josie, I'll take your car to work and pick you up after."

Josie saw right through him; he'd been aiming for this all along.

But with business to attend to, she didn't argue and got out of the car.

Oliver drove off in Josie's car, his heart light with happiness.

On his way to work, Oliver spotted Finley in the distance.

Finley stood next to Livia, who seemed to be in the middle of a heated exchange.

From afar, Oliver could only see Livia's angry expression.

He parked his car along the curb and decided to check things out.

One was his buddy, the other a friend of Josie's. He hoped they could get along,

even though the odds were slim.

Oliver strode over, catching Livia mid-tirade.

"Finley, can you just not? My

memory might be fuzzy, but that et

the

doesnt mean I fall back into the old pattern of liking you," Livia snapped.

Finley looked rough, like he hadn't slept in days.

His gaze on Livia was desperate, almost as if she were his lifeline, the very cure for

his sleepless nights.
