Chapter 635

Miss Josefina: Nobody's Princess · Dana E.

Josefina was jolted awake by frantic knocking on her door.

It sounded urgent, almost desperate.

Still groggy, Josefina opened the door to find Hattie, eyes wide with panic.

"Josie, your grandma passed out. Can you come check on her?" Hattie was beside herself with worry.

Josefina grabbed her medical kit and headed downstairs, calling out, "Mom, I'm on it."

Hattie followed closely as they made their way to the living room.

There, Alivia lay on the couch, with Mandy anxiously calling her name.

The house was empty; everyone else was at work.

As Josefina descended the stairs, she saw Mandy about to speak but swiftly cut her

off, "If you want grandma to be okay, zip it. Stand there quietly and don't say a word."

Mandy was taken aback.

Hattie nudged her, "Stay quiet. I've let you run wild far too long, and look where it's gotten us."

Mandy watched as Josefina opened her kit and pulled out a silver needle, quickly shutting her mouth, half-convinced Josefina might just use it on her.

Seeing Mandy quiet down, Hattie moved closer to Josefina, looking for ways to help.

Josefina, needle in hand, expertly found Alivia's acupoints, then dissolved some pills to feed her.

Soon, Alivia's color began to return, much to everyone's relief.

Mandy, silent, watched from the sidelines.

Josefina spoke up, "Mom, grandma's stabilized. What upset her so much?"

Mandy looked guilty.

Hattie explained, "It's all about

Mandy. She's been seeing Xavier. I heard... Xavier's not good news, and I tried to stop her. Your grandma found out Xavier is the son of a homewrecker and tried to stop het too. Mandy's harsh words knacked your grandma right over

Before Mandy could retort, Hattie quickly added that it was just hearsay.

Mandy defensively said, "Xavier's been really good to me. His background might not be the best, but he's ambitious and caring."

Josefina countered, "What has he achieved with all his ambition? What makes him worth all this drama?"

Hattie, frustrated, chimed in, "From

what I know, Xavier runs a small business that hasn't grown an inch What future does he have? Plus, he was chasing other girls while seeing Ruby Mandy we educated you to know better than to fall for a loser."

Mandy, frowning and seeing Alivia stable, stormed off.

Hattie was livid, her emotions a whirlwind, "I'll call her dad. She can't stay here anymore. If anything happens, it's on me."

She couldn't bear the responsibility.

Josefina nodded in agreement with Hattie's decision.

"Josie, go get some rest. I'll stay with your grandma until she wakes up and then

take her home," Hattie said, visibly exhausted.

"I'll take a quick shower first, Mom. Leave the needles; I'll remove them

when I'm back down," Jose there!

replied before heading upstairs.

She was keen to find out how Xavier and Mandy got entangled.

What was the connection between the two?

After her shower, Josefina's thoughts were interrupted by a message from Luke.
