Chapter 636

Miss Josefina: Nobody's Princess · Dana E.

Xavier, what a piece of work that guy is. His antics could practically write a drama series all on their own.

First, he had some goon mess with Mandy, only to swoop in like a knight in shining armor to "save" her and win her over. It's like something straight out of a cheesy movie.

When Alivia woke up, Hattie was right there, helping her sit up and filling her in on how Josefina had come to her rescue. Alivia stayed silent, her mind a jumble of emotions. She never would've guessed that Josefina, of all people, would be the one to save her.

"Mom, Josie's got some serious skills. If things get worse, maybe we should let her give it a shot," Hattie suggested.

Alivia remained quiet, and Hattie didn't push further.

"Grandma, Mom, I need to step out for a bit," Josefina said, walking over. She figured sticking around might not be the best idea, giving Hattie and Alivia some space to talk seemed like the right move.

Josefina headed over to Oliver's place, which wasn't too far from her own home. As she walked in, she found Oliver shirtless, in the middle of a phone call.

"George, make sure everything's ready, and keep the packaging youthful and cute. If you're clueless, just look it up online. Don't go rogue on me," Oliver instructed, sensing a pair of eyes on him. He turned to meet Josefina's intense gaze.

"I've gotta go," he said, hanging up.

"Oliver, what are you made of, iron? Work's important, but you've got to take care of yourself. Sit down, let me check your wound," Josefina insisted.

As Oliver took a seat, he couldn't help but praise her, "Josie, your treatment's really something. My wound's healing way faster than I expected."

"And you're using my medicine as an excuse to skip out on rest?" she chided.

"Josie, don't be mad. I promise I'll take it easy, okay?" Oliver pleaded.

Josefina ignored his plea, kneeling down to inspect his wound, which indeed looked much better. "Don't take direct showers for a while. Stick to sponge baths," she advised.

"Alright, your word is law. Whatever you say, goes," Oliver said, his tone indulgent. "I'm a bit tied up today, Josie. How about you play my secretary and stick by me? That way, you can keep an eye on me," he suggested.

Josefina just stared, bemused.

"Oliver, no wonder you're a shark in the business world. With that brain of yours, who else could rake in the bucks?" she teased.

Oliver pulled her close, his voice dripping with charm, "Josie, I'd make all the money just to spend it on you. What's mine is yours, including myself. How's that?"

"Hungry? Just give me a minute to get dressed, and we'll grab something to eat," he replied.

Once dressed, they headed out for a meal together.

...

They found themselves at a cozy diner, where Josefina ordered a feast-dumplings, steamed buns, tofu pudding, spicy soup, and soy milk. She was in her element,

Oliver, following her lead, found the taste quite appealing. Whatever Josefina enjoyed, Oliver was more than happy to share.

"Oliver, you've got to try these greasy buns. They're delicious. I'll stick with the spicy

soup, you can have the soy milk," she said, handing him some food.

Oliver complied, tasting whatever she handed him.

After finishing their meal, Oliver broached the idea again, "Josie, I my secretary for the day. Just kang

Josefina was speechless. Why was Oliver so keen on having her play secretary?

Before she could respond, her phone rang. She picked it up to answer...
