Josefina ended the call and turned her gaze towards Oliver, saying, “Alright, I'll be your secretary for the day and join you at work."

But Oliver sensed something was off about the call Josefina had just taken. Wasn't her agreement a bit too swift after her initial refusal?

Before Oliver could voice his thoughts, his phone rang. After ending the call, Oliver shared some shocking news with Josefina, "Josie, Ruby stabbed Billy and then, in a twist no one saw coming, jumped into the river."

Josefina's eyebrows knitted in surprise; she hadn't expected Ruby to take such a drastic step.

"A passerby called it in. Billy's in the hospital and miraculously pulled through. As for Ruby, I've got people on it. We need to find her, dead or alive. Who knows, maybe she's using this as a chance to slip away."

Oliver always had a meticulous way of handling things.

Without further ado, Josefina finished her meal and accompanied Oliver to work.

Their arrival at the office went unnoticed, thanks to Oliver using a private elevator to reach his office. George came in holding a bag full of goodies and respectfully said, "Ms. Josefina, Mr. Oliver asked me to pick up these snacks for you. Please, take a look and let me know if there's anything else you'd fancy. I'll have it fetched right away."

Josefina was speechless. With all these snacks, who needs lunch?

"No need for more, George, this is more than enough," Josefina declined.

"Of course, Ms. Josefina. Just holler if you need anything," George left the room.

Oliver, shedding his blazer, dived into the day's workload.

"Josie, there's a laptop on the desk for you. I had someone pick it up just now. Whenever you're here, feel free to use it for work.”

Only then did Josefina notice the pink laptop on the desk. Oliver really did think of everything.

"Thanks, I actually have some matters to attend to," Josefina said as she moved to the desk and booted up the laptop.

Both immersed in their work, they maintained a quiet coexistence, busy yet undisturbed.

Upon receiving a message from Mr. Marquez asking about her preferred class, Josefina responded nonchalantly.

Just then, George's voice came through the phone on Oliver's desk, "Mr. Oliver, Rowan is here insisting on seeing you."

"Mr. Oliver, he's threatening to make a scene at the company if you refuse."

Luke quickly replied, "Boss, I've located another nurse involved. Heading out now!"

"Send me the address, I'm coming too," Josefina responded.

Closing her laptop, she messaged Oliver about stepping out for a bit before heading out.

Josefina drove Oliver's car to meet Luke at the given location.
