Chapter 641

Miss Josefina: Nobody's Princess · Dana E.

Sydney was on edge, the situation far from what she had envisioned.

"I want you to dig deeper, leave no stone unturned! Fail to bring me results, and you'll regret it," she snapped before hanging up.

Pacing back and forth in her living room, it had been ages since she felt this anxious. Josefina, always Josefina. Without wasting a moment, Sydney dialed a number, "Find me the best hitman. I'm offering a cool million. I want Josefina gone!"

...

The night was dark and windy, perfect for nefarious deeds. Thomas, the secretary, was heading home when suddenly he was abducted.

When he opened his eyes, the sight of Oliver sitting across from him sent shivers down his spine. "Mr. Oliver?"

Oliver stood up and walked over to Thomas, who was lying on the ground. Squatting in front of him, Oliver exuded an aura of dominance that made Thomas tremble uncontrollably.

Holding a knife, Oliver pressed the blunt side against Thomas's cheek, "Tell me, why did you betray me?"

Thomas denied, panic-stricken, "Mr. Oliver, it wasn't me! I swear."

Oliver sat back down as Asher landed a kick in Thomas's gut, "Your girlfriend's account suddenly grew by a million. Care to explain how that happened?"

Thomas, feeling like he was facing his doom, struggled to his feet, kneeling before Oliver, "Mr. Oliver, I'm so sorry, it was all my fault. I was foolish."

Asher pressed, "Out with it, who put you up to this? Speak!"

Kneeling on the cold floor caused Thomas to shiver uncontrollably. As events unfolded, his mind raced, yet he couldn't piece together a coherent excuse, adding to his frustration. His silence was met with a solid kick from Asher. Blood spurted from Thomas's mouth, directly towards Oliver.

Harry quickly removed his jacket to shield Oliver, but a few drops of blood still splattered on Oliver's polished shoes. Oliver's face turned steely as Thomas, disregarding the blood at the corner of his mouth, crawled forward, attempting to wipe Oliver's shoes clean.

Oliver kicked him away, causing Thomas to panic even more. "Mr. Oliver, it's all my fault. Please, don't be angry," Thomas pleaded.

Asher, fists clenched so tightly they creaked, threatened, "You idiot, better start talking, or I'll punch the life out of you!"

Holding the knife, its blade gleaming menacingly, Asher growled, "This is

So, Thomas confessed, "It was Dominic. He paid me to spy on you, Mr. Oliver To report everything who you meet, your deals, where you dine, your habits, everything to him."

Oliver's voice turned icy, "Is that all?"

"Truly, that's everything, Mr. Oliver. Please, have mercy."

Oliver stood up, staring down at Thomas, "What's your connection with Sydney?"

Thomas was shocked; Oliver had even figured that out? Forced into a corner, Thomas revealed, "I'm Sydney's nephew..."

Without another word, Oliver walked away as Thomas begged for mercy, terrified.

...

At midnight, Sydney was rudely awakened. Angrily, she yelled, "What now? Can't a person get some sleep around here?"

The servant replied, "Ma'am, it's terrible. Thomas has been left at our doorstep."

Sydney, though not visibly panicked, was instantly wide awake and
