Chapter 642

Miss Josefina: Nobody's Princess · Dana E.

Sydney was fuming, "How did you blow your cover?"

Thomas, tears streaming down his face, pleaded, "Auntie, I don't know what happened. I was kidnapped on my way home from work, and somehow Oliver knew I was your mole..."

Sydney took a deep breath, tried to calm Thomas down, then arranged for him to be taken home safely, promising him a hefty sum for his troubles.

After Thomas left, Mrs. Howe whispered, "Madam, Thomas is a liability now."

Sydney's concern turned to icy resolve, "I had someone take a shot at Oliver, knowing full well it might compromise Thomas. No big loss; he was useless anyway."

Sinking back into the couch, Sydney grumbled, "I never thought Oliver would be this hard to take down, and Josefina, that stubborn mule. If she hadn't interfered, today's plan would have been a success!"

She imagined the victorious outcome, feeling a brief moment of satisfaction. But the current situation made her gnash her teeth in frustration.

The next morning, Josefina started her day with a jog before breakfast.

Alivia had been sent away, but Mandy refused to leave.

Hattie explained to Josefina, "Mandy didn't want to go. I called your aunt, and she said she'd come pick her up this afternoon."

"Mom, I'll grab some medicine for you to send to Grandma," Josefina offered.

Hattie was touched, "Josie, you're too kind-hearted. After all the harsh things Grandma said, you still respond with kindness. It's so unfair to you."

Josefina smiled, "Mom, Grandma is still your mother, and I want you to be happy."

Josefina didn't want to upset Hattie any more, especially now that Alivia was out of the picture.

"Josie, thank you."

"Mom, it's nothing. Let's eat."

Garrett noticed that Josefina wasn't upset about Alivia and felt even more protective of his daughter.

"Josie, I'll make sure Mandy leaves this afternoon. She's thoughtless and acts out of line in front of us. I'll, have a word with your aunt abou setting her straight."

"Uncle, Aunt, don't you care for me anymore?" Mandy stormed in, upset.

Mandy had always been the center of attention, and Hattie and Garrett had indulged her since she was their niece.

But now, seeing Mandy bully Josefina, they couldn't stand by.

Mandy was furious, feeling neglected because of Josefina's presence.

Approaching Josefina, Mandy sat down, "Uncle, don't you care for me anymore?

You and Aunt used to adore me, and now it's like I don't exist."

Hattie responded, "Mandy, Josie is my daughter. If you respect her, K certainly care for you. But you've disrespected my daughter, how can treat you like used to?"

Garrett added, "Josie is my daughter, and I won't allow anyone to bully her!"

Mandy, frowning, retorted, "You're all so good to Josefina, forgetting about Lena. Do you really think Josefina is such a saint?"

Hattie was furious, "Mandy, that's enough! I won't let you talk about Josie like that!"

Standing up, Mandy announced, "Aunt, Uncle, let me introduce someone to you. Then you'll see Josefina's true.colors. just hope you're not too disappointed

Josefina smiled lightly, "Who might that be? I'm curious to see who you've brought

to our home."
