Chapter 855

Miss Josefina: Nobody's Princess · Dana E.

"Hey, did Master make it here too?" Josefina asked with a hint of curiosity.

"Master couldn't make it this time. He sent me as a stand-in to judge the competition. I knew you were competing today, but the organizers thought Master needed some extra rest after his long journey, so they pushed the competition to tomorrow."

Josefina's eyes lit up with realization. "Ah, so that's why the competition got postponed."

"You're judging tomorrow, but here you are, chatting with me at the reception," Josefina teased. "People might catch on that we know each other."

"Don't sweat it, little sis," Cash reassured her with a smile. "Tomorrow, you'll see what it's all about. Even if folks know we're connected, it won't mess with the competition."

Josefina was intrigued, unsure of what Cash had up his sleeve. "You're not planning to set me up for a fall, are you?" she asked playfully. Even though the principal was clued in on her identity, she wasn't ready for a big reveal just yet.

"Relax, sis. I'd never let you fall on your face in front of everyone. You're our beloved little sister; no need to worry."

Josefina decided to let it slide, choosing to wait for the next day's surprises. Cash casually cleaned off the skewers that had just been served, placing them neatly on

her plate.

"So, is Oliver really your fiancé?" Cash inquired, raising an eyebrow.

Josefina nodded, "Yep, he sure is."

Cash was momentarily taken aback. "Isn't he just playing with your feelings? I've heard he's quite the heartbreaker. Hasn't he seen every kind of woman there is? Is he toying with your emotions?"

Josefina laughed, putting her skewer down. "Nah, he's not like that. He's really good to me; if I say jump, he asks how high. He's even promised to transfer all his assets to me before the wedding."

Cash was skeptical. "Seriously? All I've heard are stories about him being power-hungry, forcing his dad to retire, and firing loyal employees without a second thought an a guy like that really be good to you?"

"Trust me, bro. I'm not going to let myself get hurt," Josefina assured him. "If he

wasn't good for me, I'd be out the door already."

Cash couldn't help but question the

rumors he'd heard but decided to accept Josefina's confidence. They continued munching on their Skewers, the air light with

camaraderie.

Later, when Josefina returned to her room, she found Oliver climbing through the window. She quickly shut the door, surprised.

"You're here early! Aren't you worried my folks will catch you?" she asked, a little startled.

Oliver slipped into his slippers with a grin. "I timed it perfectly. Don't worry, we're safe."

Josefina sat down, relieved that Oliver didn't smell of alcohol. "You should cut back on the drinking it's not good for you Oliver advised, handing her a glass of water.

Josefina took a sip and shot back, "Look who's talking. You drink more than I do."

"It's been ages since my last drink, no worries," Oliver replied, lounging on the couch with his head on her lap.

"Josie, your brother doesn't seem to be my biggest fan. Did I rub him the wrong way?" Oliver asked, looking up at her.

Josefina explained Cash's concerns. "He thinks you're trouble and worries you might hurt me."

Oliver sat up, his expression serious. "What exactly did he say?"
